A NEW BEGINNING……WE AND OUR WORLD

Over time, from the prehistoric age to the modern age humans have always met with various challenges, yet they thrived from it and elevated themselves. Today, the world is different. Everyone has access to technology. They can express themselves, can do business with different people from around the world. People’s lives have changed from what they used to have during World War II. But still, are we done with war yet? Who’s that hidden enemy of ours?

No, it’s not a person or a country. It’s climate change. We often emphasize “Individuality” over “Collectivism” which explains why we haven’t talked about climate change that often. We might have a plethora of resources to live our lives to at fullest but, we haven’t thought about our future generations. Their lives might be the same as people living during the time of World War II. So, this year let’s think about “collectivism” over “individualism”. Let us not limit ourselves to the celebration of ‘International Days’ and understand about making this world a better place to live in. Every person should take initiative, doesn’t matter how small it is. As change starts from within.

It's our responsibility as an individual to make sure a good quality education reaches the entire corner of the world. Education is the only light that can eliminate the darkness of illiteracy and doubt. Here, the use of technology can really be a guiding light to achieve our goal.

In the age of modern technology where the entire world is hardwired, one can spread his/her thoughts and knowledge to each and every person around the globe and make them aware of the need to save the earth.

Simple steps such as switching off the electrical appliances when not in use, encouraging to use bicycles instead of a car for travelling short distances, and even using renewable sources of energy such as solar, wind, etc can alone save a lot of emissions that could have been dangerous to the environment if released. One must keep in mind, there is no Planet ‘B’.

Let our country become a ‘Vishwa Guru’, in the real sense. We can become torchbearers and can take initiatives at our level. It’s the season of giving and the best thing that we can give to them right now is hope. After all, Social Science makes us accountable towards the society. So, what you are waiting for…. Show the real power that lies within you. The willingness to bring a positive change in the mindset of the people. Initially, you will find yourself alone but gradually there will be people supporting you in this initiative.

Remember…..
