"If you want to lift yourself up, lift up
someone else." – Booker T. Washington
During pandemic the lockdown situation had produced conflicting emotions in the children. They wanted the opportunity to interact, talk with peers freely. They were looking forward for various activities that will educate, brighten and enlighten the young brilliant minds.
During this phase when we gave our students this task to research on certain issues related to environment like climate change, biomagnification, ozone depletion, management of garbage etc and come up with presentation for their portfolio work, we were amazed with their creativity, when they shared their findings. These little wonders of DAV Thane once again proved themselves.
This activity involved groups of students working together to solve a problem, complete a task, and create a product. It opened the door for the children to actively engage his/her peers, and to process and synthesize information rather than simply memorize it. They flourished in a social environment where conversation between them took place. During these intellectual gymnastics, children created a framework and addressed different environmental problems and offered solutions.
In a collaborative learning setting, children had the opportunity to converse with peers, present and defend ideas, exchange diverse beliefs, question other conceptual frameworks, and be actively engaged to research on problems related to environment.
D.A.V. Public School Thane takes pleasure to share the glimpses of collaborative learning of our young davians
